Stoughton is known for our Norwegian Syttende Mai celebration held the weekend closest to May 17th each year.  Visitors and residents alike enjoy this weekend from the Canoe Race down the Yahara on Friday night to the big parade on Sunday afternoon and the many, many events in between.  If you enjoy Syttende Mai's Norwegian flavor, come out in February for our Norse Afternoon of Fun, with Norwegian dancing, music and food.  In August we have the Coffee Break Festival and Car Show, celebrating Stoughton as the home of the Coffee Break, and in late fall and early winter come to enjoy our Halloween Harvest Festival, the merchant's Holiday Open House and Victorian Holiday Weekend.

In early July, the Stoughton Fair combines the exhibits of 4-H and FFA members with live entertainment and a midway filled with rides and games. Summertime in Stoughton also treats you to our 4th of July fireworks, a city-wide garage sale, a Summer Sidewalk Sale event, a Farmer's Market every Friday, an historic homes tour, and numerous activities and events sponsored by the City Recreation Department. Cultural events to entertain you include the high school's acclaimed Madrigal Dinner, delightful productions by the Stoughton Village Players, and a wonderful variety of performances in the City Hall Opera House. For information on what's happening this weekend, check out our Community Calendar.  There's always something to do in Stoughton.
