This annual event is known to be the Norwegian's answer to "Cabin Fever". The combination of colorful Norwegian costumes, rousing music, and exuberant ethnic folk dancing produces the necessary elements to relieve the winter-time blues.
This year is the 42th annual Norse Afternoon of Fun, being held on Sunday, February 10, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at the Stoughton High School, 600 Lincoln Ave., Stoughton, WI. 2003 marked the 50th Anniversary of the Norwegian Dancers. This annual event is known to be the Norwegian's answer to "Cabin Fever". The combination of colorful Norwegian costumes, rousing music, and exuberant ethnic folk dancing produces the necessary elements to relive the "winter-time blues".
Members of the audience are encouraged to wear their national costumes making this truly an international event. Children under the age of 10 who are dressed in their national or Norwegian costume will receive free admission.
This lively group of dancers present a program which includes humorous dances, gymnastics and audience participation dances. This year fourth graders dressed in Norwegian costumes representing the five elementary schools in Stoughton will be performing several dances along with the high school Norwegian Dancers. The program appeals to all ages and is a real family event.
The admission for adults is $5.00 in advance or $6.00 at the door. Admission for children under 14 is $1.00.
Raffle tickets are available, 6 for $5 or $1 each.

A bake sale featuring Norwegian pastries is also part of the afternoon activities. The dancers have traveled to New Mexico and Norway, as well as to the Southwest, going to Las Vegas and San Diego last year to visit and perform. This year in March, they will travel to Washington DC.
