The Syttende Mai 20 mile run starts at 7:30am at the Madison Capitol Square and finishes in Mandt Park in Stoughton on Saturday, May 19th. 

20 Mile Run Entry Fee:      $35 by May 1st 
                                            $45 after May 1st

All pre-registrations must be received by 5pm on May 17th, otherwise, you can register at the starting line at the Capitol.

Entry Confirmations:  We like to email participants their confirmation instead of sending postcards, so please complete the email portion of the application. If we do not have an email address for you, you will recieve a postcard. Your notification will be mailed after May 10, 2012.  Receiving the email or postcard indicates that you are registered. If you believe you are registered for the wrong event, please email us at syttendemai@gmail.com or call us at 608-438-7912.

Day of Registration: 6am-7am at the corner of Main Street and MLK Blvd. in Madison.

Pre Race and Start Info: You must pick up your race packet the morning of the race. They will be available starting at 6:00 a.m. at the registration area-corner of Main St. & Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Allow sufficient time to pick up your packet. Race packets are not available prior to that morning.

Start: Madison's Capitol Square at 7:30 a.m. near the registration area: corner of Main St. & Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Water and portable toilets will be available at the start.


Race Info:  Water provided at miles 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, 15, 17, 18 and the finish. Gatorade provided at alternate stations. Fruit and refreshments will be available at the finish line until 1 p.m. (For runners and walkers only please!) Race Timing: The run will be timed by Sports Management Associates, Inc. using the ChampionChip. You must wear the chip in order to be timed - no exceptions. You must also wear the provided race number on the front of your body to identify you as an official participant. Your chip will be included in your race packet and must be returned after the race. Failure to return the chip will result in the assessment of a $30 fee. Splits will be read at miles 1, 5, 10, 15 and finish. No times after 12:00 Noon.

Post Race Info:  Awards ceremony at 10:30 a.m. at Mandt Park in Stoughton. Handpainted Rosemaled plates given to top 3 in each age division. Results: Results will be posted at the finish line. Complete results will also be available on our website by the Tuesday after the race.

Please Note: We will strictly be enforcing the 2 abreast rule and the staying on the left side of the road rules. Please help us be good neighbors and be courteous. We want to continue using this route. Thank you.

Free Transportation:  Buses will be available for runners and walkers from Mandt Park in Stoughton to Madison starting at 5:30am. The last bus will leave Stoughton at 7:00am to accommodate the 8:00am start time for the 10 mile run.  20 mile runners will want to make sure to take an earlier shuttle to ensure that you arrive in plenty of time for the 7:30am start.  Return buses from Mandt Park in Stoughton to Madison Capitol Square and Badger Bowl only - will depart beginning at 11am with the last bus departing at 1pm.
