Syttende Mai Ugly Troll Drawing Contest

Purpose of Ugly Troll: To give the children in Stoughton a way to become involved with the Syttende Mai Festival using Norwegian Folklore.

Who: Open to all children Grades PK – 12. Only one drawing per child allowed. The picture must be drawn by the child.

What: An original hand drawn ugly troll picture. Must be on an 8 ½ x 11 sheet of white paper. The drawing can be color or black & white. Please put your name, grade and school on the front left hand corner of your drawing. Write your phone number on the back of the drawing in pencil. (Winners will be notified by phone.)

Deadline: All drawings must be submitted to the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce Office by Wednesday, April 23, 2008.

Judging: The drawings will be placed into the following grade categories: PK-K, 1-2, 3-4,5-6 and 7–12 (Categories may change based on the number of entrants per category). Awards will be distributed on May 16, 2008 during Opening Ceremonies. Winners will be contacted by phone by May 9, 2008. Late entries will not be judged! If the drawings have already been displayed, late entries will not be included.

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age category. All participants will receive an Ugly Troll button that can be picked up at the Chamber office when drawing is picked up.

Display: All drawings will be on display from May 9 to May 23, 2008 at the Stoughton Library.

Pick Up: All drawings will be available for pick up at the Chamber Office beginning May 26th until June 27, 2008. No drawings will be mailed back.
