DESCRIPTION:Meeting Highlights for May 7\, 2019 Director Comments: ? Welcome to Sid Boersma who joins us as City Council representative. ? Canceled Spring Gala event since so few tickets were purchases. We will look at other smaller fundraisers to fill in the gap. ? We are fortunate to have Tricia Nicoll back as our Volunteer/Program Coordinator. The Bryant Foundation funded this 32 hour/week position for 2019\; and will fund it for 19 hours/ week next year. ? L. Havlik drafted a letter from the COA in support of the Volunteer/Program Coordinator position. COA members will review\, and intend to send the final letter to the City ? Council in June when they begin 2020 budget discussions. Committees: no meetings to report on Legislative Update: C.McGlynn will be forwarding an email concerning the State Budget and the Finance Committee's stand on Medicaid expansion. Other items: ? Questions/clarifications on countyfunded senior service boundaries. Rutland receives Meals on Wheels\, RSVP rides and case management through Oregon Senior Center. Dunn and Pleasant Springs receives these services from McFarland. ? COA agendas will now request an RSVP from members to help us determine whether future meetings will have quorums.
