What is &ldquo\;Period Poverty&rdquo\;?
\n\nPeriod Poverty is the lack of access to menstrual hygiene products and community education.
\n\nPeriod Poverty is a Public Health Crisis.
\n\n1 in 3 low income individuals report missing school or work due to lack of access to period supplies.
\nWithout access to sanitary products\, many individuals are forced to use items like rags\, paper towels\, toilet paper\, or cardboard.
\n\nSome ration sanitary products by using them for extended amounts of time or reuse pads.
\nThese practices put menstruators at a heightened risk for major health issues.
\nPoor menstrual hygiene has a significant influence on mental health\, linking the menstrual cycle to a negative feeling and leaving people who menstruate ashamed.
\nDid you know?
\n\nWisconsin taxes menstrual products as luxury items.
\nAccess to menstrual products is a right. No student should have to miss school\, no adult should have to miss work\, and no person should have to miss out on daily life because they are unable to afford the basic necessities they require to thrive.
