DESCRIPTION:Sons of Norway Carving Class Sons of Norway   Mandt Lodge is offering a Beginning Figure Carving class for students who have little or no experience in figure carving.  In this class\, you will learn knife safety\, sharpening knives\, different knife strokes\, and finishing techniques. Although this class will help beginning figure carvers understand the basics of this cultural skill\, ALL carvers are welcome to join. Taught by Roger Odalen\, this class will provide you with a firm foundation in the art of figure carving.\n\n\n\nThe class will be 3- three-hour classes on February 12th (Monday)\, February 13 -(Tuesday) and February 16 - (Friday)\, 2024 running from 1 PM   4PM. The classes will be held at Sons of Norway Mandt Lodge - 317 Page Street\, Stoughton\, Wisconsin.\n\n\n\nClass Fees: $50.00 for the 3 classes - Sons of Norway Members and Seniors (age 55 & over) and $75.00 for the 3 classes - Non-members (Sons of Norway).  Supplies for the class will be available for an additional fee of $15.00 per student.\n\n\n\nRegistration form and payment due: February 9\, 2024.\n\n\n\nSupplies for the class will include the use of carving knives\, gloves\, sharpening stones\, acrylic paints and brushes. One piece of wood for the project will be included in the supply cost. If a student wishes more blank wood pieces to work on\, then there will be an additional fee for these. Please let me know at the time of registration if wish to pay the supply fee. You may bring your own knives\, gloves\, paints\, etc.\, and then you will be only required to purchase the blank wood piece for the class project. The approximate cost per blank is $5.00. Classes are dependent upon enrollment. The maximum number of students for this class will be 10 students.
