DESCRIPTION:Sons of Norway Kathleen Ernst Program Sons of Norway- Mandt Lodge welcomes to the public to "An Evening with Kathleen Ernst- A Settler's Year: Pioneer Life Through the Seasons" on Wednesday\, April 12\, at 7:00 PM. The lodge is located at 317 South Page Street in Stoughton\, WI. A Settler's Year: Pioneer Life Through the Seasons provides a rare glimpse into the lives of early immigrants to the Midwest. Evocative photographs taken at Old World Wisconsin\, the country's largest outdoor museum of rural life\, lushly illustrate stories woven by historian\, novelist\, and poet Kathleen Ernst and compelling firsthand accounts left by settlers. At its heart\, A Settlers Year is about people dreaming of\, searching for\, and creating a new home in a new land. This book was chosen by the Library of Congress Center for the Book to represent Wisconsin at the National Book Festival\, and the National Archives hosted Kathleen to present this program in Washington\, DC. Refreshments will be served! Everyone is welcome and no reservations needed! Please contact Darlene Arneson at arnesonfamily5@gmail.com or 608-873-7209 for more information. Mandt Lodge is handicapped accessible with a lift located on the south side of the building. There is parking on the street\, public parking lot behind the Stoughton Senior Center\, or in the Livsreise parking lot if their building is closed. We always encourage you to bring donations for the Stoughton Food Pantry! The public is always welcome at Mandt Lodge!
