Ron McCrea, author of Building Taliesin: Frank Lloyd Wright’s Home of Love and Loss, will describe the love affair and personal drama of Wright and Mamah Borthwick Cheney that began in Italy in 1910 and led to the creation of the first Taliesin, “Shining Brow” hillside retreat near Spring Green, Wisconsin, in 1911. His presentation will include many never-before-published photos of the first Taliesin while it was under construction. Ron will chronicle the turbulent life lived at Taliesin and the creative work accomplished by Wright and his lover until it ended in disaster with the fire and mass murder of August 15, 1914. Free and open to the public.
