Liv Marit Haakenstad is a genealogist and an author. She has worked as a genealogist for many years, researching Norwegians and emigrants from Norway to other countries, especially U.S. She has over 30 years of experience doing emigration research in England and United States. Her goal has been to find answers about what happened to the Norwegian emigrants after they left their homeland. She also lectures and  leads courses in Norwegian genealogy, internet genealogy research, transmigration (Norway-England-U.S.) and the emigration from Norway in general.
