What is the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce?
The Stoughton Chamber is an association of businesses, organizations and individuals who believe that by working together to promote the commercial and economic development of Stoughton, the quality of life in our community will be enhanced.
The mission of the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce is to serve our members by creating an environment for thriving businesses and enterprising leaders. The Chamber of Commerce strives to be innovative to promote a dynamic and creative business community that serves as a pulse of a vibrant Stoughton community.
Visitor Services - Stoughton’s tourism marketing arm - operates out of the Chamber. This department is responsible for promoting the community to potential visitors and tourists. Funding for the operation comes from a portion of the room tax collected by the city and with funding support provided by the Chamber.
Who belongs to the Chamber?
Businesses, organizations, individuals, not-for-profits and others are eligible for membership in the Chamber. With over 250 members, the Chamber represents the majority of the businesses in town. You are invited to join with these businesses and individuals who are working to make Stoughton the best it can be.
How is the Chamber Organized?
The membership controls the Chamber by electing a Board of Directors that establishes the goals and objectives of the organization. There are standing committees that are responsible for specific functions. Currently the committees are: Board of Governance, Finance & Fund Development, Events Evaluation, Ambassadors, Programming, Executive, and ad hoc committees as needed. Joining a committee is an excellent way to learn about the Chamber and contribute to its success.
