Becker Professional Services Hosts Pop Up Shop for Residents of All Ages to Share Their Ideas On Friday July 18

STOUGHTON, WI -  July 7, 2025 - With over 485 surveys completed to date, the City of Stoughton is hosting a Pop-up community input event to gather resident input for the Comprehensive Plan. Everyone is welcome to stop by Friday July 18th at Becker Professional Services 183 W Main Street between 10am and 3pm. Provide Your Big Idea on the different elements of the plan. The nine elements are: Land Use, Transportation, Housing, Economic Development, Agriculture/Natural/Cultural Resources, Intergovernmental Cooperation, Issues and Opportunities, and Implementation. You can also stop by our office to take the community survey in person. WSTO TV is visiting Main Street from 10:15am – 11:15am to ask residents to share their thoughts about Stoughton’s future.

A Comprehensive Plan serves as a roadmap, guiding City leaders to make informed decisions to support the well-being of residents and the overall success of the local economy.

Community input inspired many great projects in the last 10 years, including:

    • Nordic Ridge Park Splash Pad

    • Emmi Roth business moving to Stoughton in 2023

    • Renovations at the High School in classrooms, fab labs, and pool

    • New gym and fitness areas at River Bluff Middle School for community use

    • And current redevelopment projects on the riverfront.

“The more ideas we have, the better our plan will be,” said Chris Munz-Pritchard, Director of Planning & Development for the City of Stoughton. “The development in Stoughton over the last decades has been guided by community input.

Our goal is to have 700 responses exceeding the number of responses from the 2016 plan. The Comprehensive Plan Pop up shop on July 18th is designed for everyone ages 5-105.

Residents who can’t attend the open house are encouraged to fill out the survey at https://planstoughton.com

The survey is available in Spanish, Ukranian, Albanian, and English, and is open until November 3rd.
